Kim Beom named PR ambassador for Hallyu Dream Festival
Several Korean stars including actors Kim Bum and Yoon Sang-hyun have been appointed PR ambassadors for the upcoming Hallyu Dream Festival to be held next month in the city of Gyeong-ju in North Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.
The event’s organizing committee announced in a press release on Monday that they have named Kim Bum as the publicity ambassador for the festival while giving the same title to actor Yoon Sang-hyun, idol group Choshinsung and singer Hong Jin-young to promote North Gyeongsang Province. He will be promoting the significance of the Hallyu Dream Festival around the world and taking part in the PR campaign aimed at attracting foreign visitors to Korea.
The festival will be held September 10 to 12 as part of celebrating the “2010-2012 Visit Korea Year” campaign by Korea Tourism Organization (KTO).
The four stars will be attending the appointment ceremony, to be held August 5 at KTO’s T2 Academy.
The Hallyu Dream Festival will feature various activities during its three-day run;
- On September 10, Kim, Yoon and actor Uhm Tae-woong will hold an autograph signing session and a mini-concert for the “Meet with Hallyu Star” event.
- On September 11, Choshinsung will perform on stage while prominent hanbok designer Lee Young-hee will hold a fashion show.
- On September 12, numerous Korean pop stars will be performing at the Hallyu Dream Concert including 2AM, 2PM, 4minute, After School, BEAST, Davichi, FT Island, Kangta, miss A, Son Dambi, Super Junior and T-ara.

Fan account of Kim Bum’s fanmeeting in Thailand

Yesterday, Kim Bum was so cute. Let me share a little of my experiences.
In front of the fan meeting, there was nothing being sold. There were only sponsor booths.
At the beginning, Bummie sang “I’m Going to Meet Her Now”, with pauses for us to sing along. It wasn’t loud enough though, so he sang the lyrics himself. Hehe. As for me, I practiced the 2 songs he didn’t sing, but if he comes again, I’ll make sure to be able to sing this song.
Once the song ended, the MC and translator came on stage for a chat. It was a lot of fun. After that, I can’t really remember the sequence of events, since I was fixated on Bummie’s face.
They showed some pictures of Bummie from his childhood. He was so embarrassed by one of him really baggy pants and glasses, taken when he was about 5 years old, probably.
Let me just praise the choice of MC for a moment. Very funny and managed to get Bummie to make a sulky face, which was soooooo cute.
There were questions to play an O or X (true or false) game with the band. It was the band that played with Bummie in his drama. They all seemed very close.
We played the “True or False” game with Bummie. Can’t really remember all the questions, but they asked:
Bummie was born on July 7th – true or false?
Blood type O – true or false?
Likes to eat chicken – true or false?
Can only drink one bottle of soju – true or false?
Likes to travel to the sea more than the mountains – true or false?
Likes sexy women – true or false?
Likes origano coffee and something else I can’t remember. Something along these lines.Then we sang “Happy Birthday” to Bummie in English twice. I was kind of jealous of the MC, since Bummie smeared some cake on her and she refused to wipe it off.
In front of the fan meeting, there was a board for us to write questions to ask Bummie. The askers of the selected questions were invited up to take photos with Bummie and get his autograph. They also got to shake hands with him and hug him, too. Awesooooooommmme. The unni who sat next to me got to go up. So happy for her!
The last game was organized by Bummie himself. He called out a list of characteristics, starting from “has shoulder-length hair” and progressing onto “does not wear glasses”, “is wearing a necklace”, “is wearing shoes that cover their whole foot”, “is wearing a skirt”, “is wearing a headband”, “brown hair” and “is wearing a shirt with something black” on it. This was super-fun. He called out the traits himself, taking time to think of each one. The winner was awarded the bracelet he himself was wearing. He took it off and put it on the winner himself.
The fan meeting ended with Bummie singing “Bad Case of Loving You”. So cool.
The most memorable moment was everyone playing the game with Bummie. Some people got to hold his hand, hug him, and pose for photos with him. Hehe. Even though I didn’t get a chance to do any of that, I still thought it was awesome of him.
Bummed out that I didn’t get an autograph or a chance to shake his hand. I was 1 of the 100 chosen, but I didn’t make it on time. So regretful! Hehe. I did get a great seat in front though. No media blocking me at all. Only 2 meters away from Bummie. Grinned all the way home.
If I remembered anything wrong, please forgive me and set the record straight.
Apparently some people are taking Kim Bum out for sukiyaki today. We’ll keep you posted ^.^

Kim Bum, F4 guy, visits Thailand to prepare for his fan meeting ‘One Sweet Day with KIM BUM The 1st Thailand Fan Meeting’ [Interview]. July 30th, 2010, 5:30 PM, at Paradise Park, Bangkok.
Korean superstar Kim Bum, one of the F4 members from hit drama series Boys Over Flowers flew to Thailand for the “One-2-Call presents One Sweet Day with KIM BUM The 1st Thailand Fan Meeting”, happening on July 31st, 2010, at Paragon Hall 3, Siam Paragon Mall.
Today, Kim Bum had an informal meet-and-greet with Thai fans on the first floor of Paradise Park Mall. A large crowd of Thai fans flocked to the area to welcome their idol and were treated to a small interview from him on stage.
Please introduce yourself.
Hello, I’m Kim Bum. Thank you so much coming out in such large numbers today. Tomorrow I’m having a fan meeting and I hope to see you all there. I love you all!
Could you say a few words inviting your fans to the event tomorrow?
Thank you again for the great outpouring of support today. I hope you can make it tomorrow. [said in Thai] See you tomorrow!
Later, at 6:30 PM, Kim Bum gave an interview to the gathered members of the media on the 4th floor of Paradise Park.
Kim Bum: Hello to everyone who has come out to welcome me. I hope to see you all again at my fan meeting tomorrow.
Could you please talk about your working experiences?
When I acted in my first drama 5 years ago, I was very excited and had no idea what was going on around me. I was just extremely focused on my acting and I was very nervous in front of the camera. That’s actually how I feel today, since this is my first time coming to Thailand. There are so many cameras!
We’re used to you being an actor, but you’ve brought along a band this time. What got you interested in singing?
Actually, I never planned to debut as a singer, but whenever I had a chance to sing, I’ve been met with a pretty good response. So I’m not really presenting myself as a singer, but as an actor with this other side for my fans to see.
You’ve had a number of fan meetings. Before each one, how do you cope with your nervousness?
I’d say people in general get nervous in front of cameras, but I get nervous backstage. Once I get on stage though, I’m not nervous at all, especially if I’m performing with my band. They’re my friends, so that helps to really relax me.
What do you do in your free time?
Right now, I’m really interested in music. I want my fans to see new things from me, so I’ve been making time to train on the guitar and other instruments.
Can you speak any Thai?

Anything you want to say to your fans?
I just want to mention again about tomorrow. This is my first fan meeting in Thailand. I am very happy that I finally have this opportunity. I have a lot prepared for my fans!
How do you feel about this visit to Thailand?
I’m happy. I’ve waited a long time for this day and I hope I have many more chances to return to Thailand.

From what I can remember, it’s a mesh of the 2 CFs together, back to back. Personally, I think the music editing should have been done better. The transition wasn’t really smooth.
